1. Introduction

SchoolTV ANZ Pty Ltd (ACN 28 641 949 224) is committed to protecting the privacy of students and staff utilising SchoolTV Academy Youth Wellbeing Course. In delivering the SchoolTV Academy curriculum, we adhere to a "Privacy by Design" approach to ensure that mental health and wellbeing education is conducted in a safe, secure, and transparent digital environment.

2. Information We Collect

A. Student Data

To facilitate the Youth Wellbeing Course and provide accreditation, we collect:

• Identity Data: Student name, year level, and school-issued email address.
• Progress Data: Records of completed modules and quiz results.
• Reflective Data: Responses to non-diagnostic reflection exercises.

Note: there is no collection of responses to anything.

B. Teaching Staff Data

To facilitate classroom management, we collect:

• Professional Identity: Full name and school-issued email address.
• Class Management Data: Records of module deployments and student progress monitoring.
• Access Logs: Timestamps of platform login for security auditing.

Note on Data Minimisation: We do not collect Staff IDs, personal contact details, or student clinical/medical diagnoses.

3. How We Use This Data

Data is used strictly for educational and safety purposes:

• For Students: To track progress through the Youth Wellbeing Course and issue Certificates of Youth Wellbeing.
• For Staff: To allow secure access to manage assigned student groups, monitor curriculum completion and issue Certificates of Facilitation.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

• Service Providers: Data is hosted by SchoolTV on secure servers. SchoolTV is contractually prohibited from selling data or using it for marketing.
• No External Disclosure: Neither student nor staff personal details are shared with third-party advertisers.

5. Security & Retention

• Encryption: Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
• Access Control: Only authorised school personnel can view student progress.
• Account Deactivation: When a student or staff member leaves [School Name], their access is revoked, and their data is archived or deleted in accordance with our Data Retention Schedule.

  When a student or staff member leaves a school, their access to the SchoolTV Academy platform is revoked. 
  
  As part of our data management practices, SchoolTV removes user data from the system at the end of each calendar year in accordance with our Data Retention Schedule.
  
  If a school would like student or staff data removed earlier — for example, following the completion of the Youth Wellbeing Course — this can be requested at any time. SchoolTV will action these requests promptly in line with our data privacy obligations.

6. Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Children’s Online Privacy Code (2026), individuals have the right to:

1. Access: Request a copy of the data held about them.
2. Correction: Request the correction of inaccurate information.
3. Opt-Out: Students may opt out of the digital platform and complete the curriculum via alternative methods without penalty.
4. Deletion: Request the deletion of personal data once it is no longer required for educational purposes.
